Behind the Hedges: ‘Life in the Burbs’ by The Dream Chasers

‘Life in the Burbs’ by The Dream Chasers With ‘Life in the Burbs,’ Bridgette and Peter (aka The Dream Chasers) unfold the full range of their artistic creation. They take us on a journey through the suburbs, which includes not only the visible hedges and houses but also the hidden longings and dreams of their inhabitants. With a mix of melancholic reflection and life-affirming euphoria, they paint a multi-layered portrait. The musical accompaniment is as diverse as the emotions of the residents. From indie pop melodies that capture the quiet of a Sunday morning to powerful indie rock chords that reveal the hidden wildness behind the manicured facades, The Dream Chasers offer a soundtrack that both soothes and challenges the listener. The catchy riff in ‘Life in the Burbs’ acts as a musical guide that immediately captivates the listeners and takes them on an acoustic journey through the complex emotions of suburban life. It is the artistry with which this riff captures the essence

The Thursday Interview: Magic Dietrich

Thanks for your time!

Magic Dietrich - Spotify

Who inspired you to make music?

Probably ozzy osbourne, the first album I got,the ultimate sin sounded so cool.i was listening to old bands like hawkwind too because that’s what my friends were listening too.funny before that I didn’t like music ! Guess there were only crap  pop bands I heard

What is your creative process like?

I kinda get a buzz from it,I’m guessing musician just do.its almost the most enjoyable thing I do,I love it to death.i swear I get as high as a kite

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

They say u should never met your hero’s ,but be nice to test it ! I do love muse,Kate bush, there’s tons of great artists, but I’m happy to collaborate with anyone if I have the time.outside of bands I’ve been in,I’ve never collaborated with anyone.so that might be a fascinating idea

What is the most useless talent you have?

Lighting a match with one hand...

What is the most useful talent you have?

Lighting a match with one hand haha

If you could change anything in the past, what would it be?

There would be quiet a lot.when u have your face pressed hard into the situation, any situation it’s really difficult to make the right choice.when u have some distance,if u know what I mean, then things seem so much easier.but if it were to be one thing,I think stop being such a lazy bastard ! So if I could change that

How do you feel the Internet (especially Social Media platforms) has impacted the music business?

Oh massively ,not for the better.being paid ultra small amounts.i think it’s also a question of technology because that’s made making music so much easier.now u have literally millions of folks releasing music.so u have to knock it out of the park when u make a song.the big thing is the algorithms they use for social media,I read somewhere Facebook only lets 25 “ friends” see your posts.how the hell are u going to get anywhere with that !

The best way to annoy a musician is to start talking about social media platform haha.i reckon it was better when we had physical cd,vinyl if u had a good record deal.its almost like musician have stop being screwed by record companies now something else can do it.i think we should go back to using bands website,by far that would be the best thing

What’s next for you?

I’m just promoting Magic Dietrich stuff.i still got to decide which song to make another video for.i was really chuffed with how the first two went.first videos I ever made

What do you know about Austria?

Yes lovely Austria ! I remember going there about 20 year ago.i will tell u a funny story.we had a old blue van we used for gigs,so we thought to go on a trip from England to Vienna I was driving from Passau,Germany we were going pretty fast, then we see two guys in the road.thats funny we thought why the hell are they standing in the middle of the road.so I had to slam the brakes on hard.the van was literally screaching. then we realised oh border guards,it’s the border ! Anyway they did let us in and we loved it.

What is the message you want to give to your listeners?

Just enjoy listening.pretty simple.we should not overthink sometimes.music is kinda a immediate thing,u either hate it or love it
