"Half Brain" ist die Debütsingle der aus Minneapolis stammenden Alternative Rockband Hyooman. Die Band ist soundtechnisch irgendwo zwischen dem Alt-Rock der 90er/Anfang 2000er einzuordnen. "We didn’t want to sound overly processed and “clean.” So we avoided the pursuit of technical precision and embraced “looseness” and mistakes. We want to sound like a band; the song should sound and feel like humans are playing the instruments.", sagen sie selbst. "Half Brain" hat diesen gewissen "Indieflow", was das Stück so hörenswert macht. Die Drums leiten den Track ein, gefolgt von einer klassischen zeitlosen Indiemelodie, welche durch die "Vocalparts" dann noch getoppt wird. Die Lyrics pendeln zwischen sarkastisch und selbstironisch.
