The Artist: Dom Clark Trio - "Over again"


“We wanted to create something that gives you the rush of early Motown….with some Chic and Jackson 5 rhythms thrown in” erklärt Dom, “...and lyrically it’s about having a special time in your life that you wouldn’t change even though it didn’t work out in the end” sagt er weiter. 

Dom Clark Trio das sind Dom Clark (vocals/guitar/trumpet), Conor Cotterill (bass) and Enmanuel Moreno (drums/percussion). Gegründed im Februar 2017. Und Over Again ist ihre neuestes Werk, wie er bereits selbst sagte liegt es irgendwo zwischen Chic und The Jackson 5. 

Dom Clark Trio, da ist das Talent schon sehr perfektioniert worden, man befindet sich hier musikalisch schon in einer Art Meisterklasse. Die Bassline, und wer selbst Bass spielt weiß dass diese Lines nicht mehr zu den einfachen Übungen zählen, erzeugt bereits immense Energie, die natürlich im Arrangement zusammen mit den Drums für den perfekten Groove sorgt. Auch die nicht aufdringlich wirkend funkige Gitarre geht nochmals einen Schritt Richtung Retrofeeling. Doms Stimme präsentiert sich in bester Verfassung und scheint wie geboren für diesen Sound zu sein. Um das ganze jetzt aber noch zu toppen setzt gegen Ende des Songs auch noch Doms Trompete ein, quasi als Kirsche auf der Schlaghaube.
