Behind the Hedges: ‘Life in the Burbs’ by The Dream Chasers

‘Life in the Burbs’ by The Dream Chasers With ‘Life in the Burbs,’ Bridgette and Peter (aka The Dream Chasers) unfold the full range of their artistic creation. They take us on a journey through the suburbs, which includes not only the visible hedges and houses but also the hidden longings and dreams of their inhabitants. With a mix of melancholic reflection and life-affirming euphoria, they paint a multi-layered portrait. The musical accompaniment is as diverse as the emotions of the residents. From indie pop melodies that capture the quiet of a Sunday morning to powerful indie rock chords that reveal the hidden wildness behind the manicured facades, The Dream Chasers offer a soundtrack that both soothes and challenges the listener. The catchy riff in ‘Life in the Burbs’ acts as a musical guide that immediately captivates the listeners and takes them on an acoustic journey through the complex emotions of suburban life. It is the artistry with which this riff captures the essence

The Artist: Novacain - "Shine on me"

Shine on me

Klassische Summervibes im Stile von The Cure meets the early Beatles. Novacain das hat was, sie wissen zu gefallen, and hopefully they will shine on or even brighter.  Do we like it?... no, we love it!!! Wer sie sind und was sie inspiriert könnt ihr im nachfolgenden kurzen Q&A part lesen.

Q&A

Novacain is...?

Novacain are an Indie rock’n’roll band, bringing you riff driven grooves, laced with catchy melodies. At the core of each tune is a classic pop song, but with plenty of muscle behind it! Our sound is formed by four individuals, with varied tastes, giving each song its own unique identity. Influences such as The Beatles, Oasis, Daft Punk, Kasabian (blue, Bob Marley, the who, the kooks, arctic monkeys, blondie) have helped shape our music. We met via the local music scene, coming from different bands, (making us somewhat of a supergroup 🦸) we bonded over our love of great music and Family Guy.

Novocaine is a drug used as a pain killer, we feel like we could be the antidote to some of the ear bleeding music found in the charts today. Plus it sounded cool and wasn’t taken already 😂 👍

Who inspired you to make music in general?

All stated above 👍

What is your creative process like?

Listen to The Beatles/oasis....copy and paste, move a few of the riffs around a little bit and hey presto... we’ve got a song 😂

All of the songs are written individually to start with, (generally on acoustic guitar) then finished off collectively. The Rehearsal Room is where they come alive. The Drums and Bass will then come in and dictate the tempo and feel of the song. When Dan starts Singing, he brings a whole new meaning to lyrics and will start to add extra vocal parts to mix up the melody and give the parts variety and build moment as the song progresses. (Lloyd) with any song I write, the song tends to come to me almost fully formed... ‘Shine on Me’ was know different in that respect... it’s like I can hear the song on a muffled radio and each time I play it through, it gets clearer and clearer. With this particular song I wanted a summer indie pop vibe. My influences I mainly hear in this would be, The Beatles, the cure, two door cinema club and Miles Kane

What is the most useful talent you have?

Dan- Can make any social situation awkward with one comment

Andy-does amazing/very offensive impressions

Lloyd- drives a van which is good for lugging gear around

Mike- can grow a full beard, which makes the rest of us feel inadequate

If you could change anything in the past, what would it be?

A few years ago, There was a jacket that I was waiting for payday to buy, only for it to be sold out and then discontinued by the time pay day rolled around... there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about that jacket 🥺

What’s next for you?

World Domination.... then I use my success will find that jacket!!!
