"Brujeria" by  blxckflamingo  As soon as I read about new darkwave projects, I just have to listen to them, and I'm usually not disappointed.  This is also the case with blxckflamingo from New Jersey, who have released a 3-track EP called "Attic Tracks", on which "Brujeria" stands out once again.  The song is a dark, poetic reflection on passion, devotion, and the destructive aspects of desire and pain.  A mystical, almost occult atmosphere is created with pictorial descriptions such as "witches’ ball" and "mystical rain" , which keeps you caught between attraction and self-destruction. blxckflamingo succeeds with "Brujeria" in creating a powerful expression of inner chaos and longing.  Musically, you can look forward to excellent cold darkwave that indulges in a post-punk renaissance. "Bubba Does" by Snakedoctors


Snakedoctors 

Snakedoctors are a rock band formed in May of 2020. In July the band recorded their first songs.
In August they came up with 13 songs, first unofficial and unpublished to friends & family, the demo CD album “stonegravity”.
In August and September Snakedoctors recorded new songs for their first official album “Obligation” released on 22nd of December, along with four singles. In May of 2021 they released their second album "Joy Free Bowl" along with five singles.
The third studio album "Mellow Joy" was released on 22nd October of 2021 some weeks ago.
Also the next album "Tiny Blast" and the fifth one with working title "Five" are ready to be released - some time in 2022.

Snakedoctors are:

lead vocals and guitar - Wojciech Wypych (formerly of the Implants formerly known as the Shriners and Splinter, bands from Oxford, MS),
bass - Jaroslaw Szybowski,
keyboard and vocals - Jacek Karnat and
drums - Robert Porazka.

Bubba Does

Die Aussage, "We quote grunge, new wave and hill country blues as inspirations.", machte mich natürlich neugierig. Diese Neugier hat sich wieder einmal bezahlt gemacht, bezahlt gemacht im Sinne von "hidden gem alert". 
Die Band aus Polen erzählt eine Geschichte über die Liebe, der eine kommt mit guten Absichten, der Andere mit, sagen wir mal, "gewissen" Intentionen. Der Zweite bekommt, wie so oft im Leben, natürlich was er will. 
Dieses Thema verpacken sie erdig-grungig im Stile des neuen Rock'n'Roll der 2020er. Außergewöhnlich der Sound, als wenn man ein paar Stiegen hinab in den Underground steigen würde um dort einerseits Grunge Elemente wie auch etwas New Wave vorzufinden. 
Die Vocals, passen sich dem Genre an und runden das Gesamtpaket perfekt ab.
