The Fear of Omnipresent Observation: ‘The Crawling Eye’ by The Silence Industry

‘The Crawling Eye’ by The Silence Industry On this very Friday, we whisk you away into the sublime yet shadow-laden realm of Goth Rock, where the heart of Post-Punk beats incessantly. The Silence Industry has recently set a benchmark with ‘The Crawling Eye’ that other artists will find difficult to surpass in the foreseeable future. Endowed with an impressive back catalog,  The Silence Industry approaches a topic of grave seriousness in their latest release. The track addresses omnipresent surveillance, shedding light on its profound implications as well as the personal apprehensions it evokes.   Musically, Graham Jackson creates a scene of distressing perfection, where elements of Death-Rock leave us breathless and the fear of omnipresent observation becomes palpable. Driven by a dark Post-Punk aura, Graham rises with a performance at the microphone that recalls memories of Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke). The artist not only succeeds in maintaining the tension for nearly seven minutes b

The Thing With Feathers - Band

The Thing With Feathers

The Thing With Feathers are an alt-rock, indie pop and dance powerhouse, fueled by four of Nashville’s musicians:

David Welcsh (vocals),
Sean Carroll (bass),
Alex Hendricks (lead guitar) and
Chris Roussell (drums).

After an initial connection between Welcsh and Carroll in the fall of 2018, the addition of Hendricks and Roussell followed in quick succession, cementing the bands lineup and bringing about their debut single, ‘Song of the Nightime’, in February 2019. The Feathers footing found solid ground soon after the modest success of their debut with ‘Figure It Out’, their sophomore single, released in May of 2019.

The infectious hook and pop-sensitive rock sound helped the track amass over 950,000 streams on Spotify since its release, quickly becoming a fan-favorite at live shows and proving a powerful catalyst in reaching an international audience. Through an unprecedented pause on live shows due to the lockdowns, the boys continued to obsessively work on their studio sound, retreating to Shoebox Studios to write and record what would become their debut EP, Sundays In The South.

With the November 19th release of ‘Static’, the first single from the upcoming EP, the bands aggressive expansion of their footprint beginning in the late fall of 2021 will culminate in the February 2022 release of Sundays In The South and a coinciding tour of the U.S. leading into the spring of 2022.

Static
