‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

4 Artists 4 you: Modest Oda, Last Wars, Voie 81 & The Soulela

Four Artist, Four Songs

MODEST ODA - "Only Water"

Today we start with Modest Oda. His previous track "Giving it up today" sounds still in my ears. Now we are able to present his new song "Only water". "The song is about finding something, that seams to heal at first glance, but finally turns out to be the exact opposite.", the artist said. Emotions driven by the wind of truth and stopped by being dissapointed and at the end a unique picture drawn by sadness embedded in the sound of eternity. Definitely an impressive new track by Modest Oda by the end of the year.

Last Wars - "Pale Fire"

"Pale Fire" is a punky, blippy, minimal synth track with delayed psych guitar and lyrics inspired by reading too many articles about space disasters. What an introduction for a song, and yes, that's exactly how it sounds. Finest Experimental Electronic from Last Wars. Extraordinary and worth to listen!

Voie 81 - "1989"

Voie 81 is a Parisian wave synthporn duo, our music is a cry of freedom and finds its inspiration in the 1980s’analogical sound. "1989" the major tune from their album "Ralentir" takes you on a journey back to the "End-80s" respectively to 1989 a year full of changes. New Order with a touch of the early 90s.

The Soulela - "Halat"

Today our last track is a bit of avantgarde meets metal funk in hebrew, this is definitely what I would call "out of the box". Here are The Soulela from Jerusalem and their song "Halat". A must for Experimental metal funk lovers and Art Rock fans as well. Give it a listen and check them out!
