Please Insert Coin: ‘Games’ by The Octopus Division

‘Games’ by The Octopus Division If you love the 80s and don't know Matt Muncie (aka The Octopus Division), you've definitely missed something. But as it's never too late for good music, you can catch up on what you've missed anytime and almost anywhere.  The Octopus Division's latest work is called ‘Games’ and once again represents the decade of neon lights perfectly. The major sequences are classically chosen, and you'll be hooked from the start. Back in the world of arcade games, the song becomes an intense journey of self-discovery, describing personal growth. Timelessness and shared experiences emphasize the importance of interpersonal bonds. ‘Games’ creates a dreamy atmosphere that allows you to immerse yourself in another world and makes you think about the future - all because you pressed the start button.  The entire production clearly bears Matt's signature, with classic drums, synth arrangements, and above all, the usual concise vocal part, which...

"Wake up" by Ale Galata, Marveni

Ale Galata

My name is Ale Galata and I am a passionate singer and songwriter from Regensburg (Bavaria). Accompanied by music since my childhood, I write down my feelings, emotions, opinions and stories in my songs. From around the age of ten, I kept picking up my brother's guitar and strumming on it. I wrote my very first song with 12 or 13 years. And from then on I was addicted to music. Till today I’ve written so many songs and played in many positions in different bands. I have performed on many stages and I have gained a lot of experience.

Today I am 28 years old and I want to bring my music to the people. My music ranges from powerful pop to melodic ballads, characterized with energetic lyrics, that express feelings and tell stories. I released my debut single -Father- in March 2020. The second song -Not Enough- was released at the end of 2020 and my third single -Hands Up- in July 2021.

Through hard work, ambition and the constant urge to get better, I can already show some successes. I am constantly trying to educate myself, in all respects the music industry demand; including marketing, social media, etc.
As a result, I have already been able to build a loyal fan base. My goal is to reach people with my music. I want them to laugh, cry, dance, think or just not think at all, but also let go. And above all, I want to use my full potential. I can achieve all of this with my music.

Wake up

…and at the end we have to say, "Wake up" by Ale Galata, definitely much more than just a simple Pop song.

Q&A

Who inspired you to make music in general

My parents bought me a drumset when I was 2 years old. They always supported me and my music. I grew up with music and I think my parents inspired me.

What is your creative process like ...and what inspired you to the song "Wake up"?

The most interesting thing about my creative process is that I dream about the melodies of my songs. I can hear it as if the song is already finished. Then I wake up and make a whole song out of it.
That’s because I’m very fascinated of the dreamworld and I wanted to make a song about dreams. And that's how I came up with the idea for the song wake up.

What's your most useful talent besides music?

I would say ambition, if that’s a talent :D. My ambition allows me to achieve lots of goals in my life

How would you describe 2021 in a sentence?

The most creative year in my life.

What was the first ever Pop/Rock/etc. ... song you listened to or remember on?

I think the first song I remember is „Captain Jack“ I think I was 2 or 3 years old and I was listening in the living room to this song.

You are from Regensburg, how would you describe the music scene there?

Here in my city there are lot of talented music artist with lot of different genres. Many musicians here combine bavarian culture with modern music. I think that’s very cool and creative.

Do you remember your first ever self-written song?

Yeah sure! I was 12 or 13 years old. It was a German song written on the guitar. I still remember the hook but I forgot the rest of the song.

What’s next for you?

I always try to get better and produce more songs. I’m also working on a new live program and I want to expand my fanbase.
