nasmore
Like a great many artists, Canadian-based nasmore grew up constantly attached to his stereo system & the instruments surrounding him, fully immersed within music of all kinds as a listener, while teaching himself the fundamentals of how to write & play his own songs. With an exploratory and adventurous spirit, a tremendous natural skillset, and the courage to experiment with anything & everything new to him – nasmore developed an authentic taste for diversity that he instantly infused into his own unique process.
Throughout the course of a truly groundbreaking year, he released a series of stunning singles that took his songs all the way around the globe online, including crucial first steps towards the spotlight through gripping instrumentals like “Black Dress Tango” and “NDDP Fire Theme.”
Breakout singles like “Your Bullet” & “Say Goodbye” featured Cris Hodges – and nasmore went on to switch up his style even further by teaming up with Beaux in an explosion of inspired hybrid Alternative/Hip-Hop sound on “Blast Wall” before the end of his first year as a professional musician was even finished; every move he makes becomes a giant leap in taking his insatiable creativity, compositions, and career to the next level
Mind in a maze
"“Mind in a Maze” embraces the confusion we experience & turns it into cathartic art reminding us of Dan Brown’s novels." war einer der Sätze in der Ankündigung, der mich dann doch neugierig werden
Q&A
nasmore is...?
Canadian multi-genre music producer/songwriter. I received formal and comprehensive musical education going from the age of 5 and till I turned 17. Then my career had a 90-degree turn, away from music and into IT world, and it's been so until late 2020, when I felt that I have lots to "say", in musical terms.
Speaking of genres, I see it as a mean to better deliver my message and to target the right audience. So, I choose different genre for each song I write - pop, rock, indie, hip-hop/rap. I love mixing genres as well. Basically, to me choosing the genre for my next song is like choosing cuisine for my next dinner ))
Both careers of mine are indeed quite exciting and rewarding. Both require creativity, passion, as well as dedication and persistence.
Who inspired you to make music in general ...and especially to the song "Mind in a maze"?
I have passion for psychology and that's what inspires me. At the end of the day, music is a psychological tool or even a weapon sometimes. It can make you laugh; it can make you cry; it can make you angry, and it can motivate you.
In a way, "Mind in a maze" is a tribute to Dan Brown's novels - "The Da Vinci Code", "Angels and Demons", "Inferno". BTW, he was a composer and singer too ))
What is your creative process like?
Well, it starts with an idea, a subject matter. Usually, this idea is bigger than one song could bear, so then it breaks down to pieces. And then the work begins, turning each individual piece into a composition. The rest could be called a routine - deciding on a genre, finding the right sound and then putting it all together.
I might wake up in the middle of the night, mumble some tune into my phone so that I won't forget it, and then find myself scratching my head trying to understand what the hell did I record. ))
What's your most useful talent besides music?
Famous quote by Lion Feuchtwanger: "Talented person is talented everywhere". But I believe it's other people to judge how talented you are.
Well, friends tell me that I inspire them and they also like my cooking - useful? I guess so ))
How would you describe 2021 in a sentence?
Challenging, but fruitful.
What was the first ever Pop/Rap/etc. ... song you listened to or remember on?
You are challenging my memory, which is challenged by so many things already )) So, I have no choice but to admit that I don't remember.
What do you prefer, a live gig or a studio session?
Studio is my preference.
Do you remember your first ever self-written song?
Yep )) It's called "Amoeba's dream". I was probably 11-12yo when I wrote it.
What’s next for you?
I would love to be able to grow it to the point where I would be able to start helping independent artists to grow and advance in their music career. So, it means more music, more songs. Three new singles are coming out in the next three months. “Adrenaline storm”, “#The Deal”, and “Safe in my dreams”.
And 5 more are in the works and expected later this year. All I can promise to the listener – they won’t be bored! ))
