Electro-Pop’s Poet of Pain: Me & Melancholy Releases ‘Tears In The Rain’

‘Tears In The Rain’  by  Me & Melancholy Whenever there’s a new release from Me & Melancholy , it fills us with anticipation. This time, the artist paints a compelling portrait of human vulnerability and the complexity of interpersonal relationships.  ‘Tears In The Rain’ succeeds in capturing the essence of ephemeral beauty and the pain of the inevitable, expressing it through music. The dynamics of estrangement, articulated in the lines ‘I’m not able to reach you ’ and ‘ the more I try, the further I push you away ’, reflect a tragic irony. It feels like a dance of approach and withdrawal, prompting listeners to contemplate the paradoxes that often occur in our most intimate relationships.  The artist’s signature melancholic tone conveys a plea for acceptance and an attempt to bridge the gap created by misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Musically, Peter Ehrling navigates familiar territory, once again leveraging it to his advantage by capturing the emotional depth.   ‘Tears

Hybrid Kid

Hybrid Kid are an indie-rock 3-piece guitar band based in Brighton UK. They have been playing live for a number of years in various guises in the US and UK and have received airplay on Xfm, BBC 6Music, Radio Reverb and many college radio stations worldwide, and can’t wait to get recording and gigging again very soon!

The enthusiasm and energy of Hybrid Kid is an extension of three wayward personalities:
Danny (Guitar/ Vocals),
Tim (bass) and
Fabio (drums)
bring a dynamic and experimental edge to this band of rock’n’roll travellers.

Influences include Pavement, Interpol, and Pixies among others. Danny is a founder member of the band and it’s very much his passion project. Tim has played in a number of bands including 90s punky rockabilly group John Wayne Army.

Change your mind

"... a love song that's a bit hippy and ethereal ...", beschreiben sie den Song selbst.
"Change your mind", a diamond cutted by Hybrid Kid.

Q&A

Hybrid Kid are...?

Danny Lloyd - Guitar/vox
Tim Sanpher - Bass
Fabio Sclafani - Drums

Who inspired you to make music in general?

Lots of classic rock bands like Led Zep, Pink Floyd and also 90s bands like Pavement, Radiohead. Guitar heavy stuff with hopefully not too much noodling.

What's the story behind your latest release "Change your mind", respectively what or who was your inspiration?

I used to have Spanish guitar lessons so I think some of that comes through on this one. It's all delicate finger-picking which goes with the delicate lyrics, a love song that's a bit hippy and ethereal

What is your creative process like?

I usually get up early morning and drive up the hill to play guitar in the car watching the sunrise and if the guys think it's any good then we turn it into a song

What's the most significant difference, if you compare your first single with the latest release?

We're a heck of a lot more jaded now

What's your most useful talent besides music?

I cook a mean curry

As a band, I guess, you prefer to play live, or are you one of those bands who loves to be in the studio?

Live is all nervous energy and excitement and you never know how it's gonna go whereas the studio can be a lot of sitting around watching somebody else pushing buttons.

Do you remember your first ever self-written song?

No way. I'm sure it's been buried way deep it was so terrible

What’s next for you?

Bigger and better gigs please, we're smokin' hot live right now
