Electro-Pop’s Poet of Pain: Me & Melancholy Releases ‘Tears In The Rain’

‘Tears In The Rain’  by  Me & Melancholy Whenever there’s a new release from Me & Melancholy , it fills us with anticipation. This time, the artist paints a compelling portrait of human vulnerability and the complexity of interpersonal relationships.  ‘Tears In The Rain’ succeeds in capturing the essence of ephemeral beauty and the pain of the inevitable, expressing it through music. The dynamics of estrangement, articulated in the lines ‘I’m not able to reach you ’ and ‘ the more I try, the further I push you away ’, reflect a tragic irony. It feels like a dance of approach and withdrawal, prompting listeners to contemplate the paradoxes that often occur in our most intimate relationships.  The artist’s signature melancholic tone conveys a plea for acceptance and an attempt to bridge the gap created by misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Musically, Peter Ehrling navigates familiar territory, once again leveraging it to his advantage by capturing the emotional depth.   ‘Tears

Look up

"Look up" by Robbie Boyd, we say, listen to this timeless Folk/Indie Pop song and enjoy it ... definitiv ein hörenswerter Track, sollte auf alle Fälle auf jeder Indie/Folk Playlist vertreten sein!

Q&A

Robbie Boyd is...?

A down-to-earth, caring man who isn’t afraid to speak his truth. He is someone who always wants the best out of life, for him and others, and does his best to live it so. He doesn’t let other people’s opinions or perceptions of him get in the way, though he does value and respect everyone else’s views.
Robbie is very sure about what he wants to achieve in life – making music till he dies, living a rich and joy-full life, as free as possible from the torment, doubt and misery that many find themselves in, knowing that he’s already what he’s seeking inside him.

Who inspired you to make music in general?

My parents, most definitely. They were always singing on road trips in the car, or playing the piano and guitar at home, plus they booked me in for some recording studio time (along with my sisters – who were also big music fans and singers) as soon as I had written a few songs around University time, I’d already played the guitar and sung in choirs etc. since I was about 8 years old!

What's the story behind your latest release "Look Up", what or who was your inspiration?

The story behind it is that I was travelling on the underground and busses in London for a while, observing how long people were spending staring down at their screens, not ‘Looking Up’ and connecting with each other
It made me realise that it’s so important to really be out there in life and showing people a different way, to not always be so fixated on your phone, but wonderfully living life, and appreciating all that it has to offer.

What are your first steps concerning "songwriting", how is the process respectively your procedure?

It depends on the situation / song. Sometimes I can wake up in the middle of the night with a melody and some form of words in my head and I record it, and then go to my studio either there and then and ‘flesh it out’ i.e. finish as much as I can of it off, other times, I would be sitting down at my desk wanting to let a song come through, and there it comes. Simple.

The Song is taken from your album "Time will tell", how would you describe the Album in a sentence?

Soul-full and heart-warming.

At this moment what would be your "All time Top 3 Songs"?

Moments, by Robbie Boyd! :)
Look Up, by Robbie Boyd! :)
And Gentle Ways, by Juzzie Smith

What's your most useful talent besides music?

Cooking

Do you remember your first ever self-written song?

I do, I was in the bath, wondering what real love would feel like, instead of all the emotional ups and downs type of love that I had been used to for so long. It came out as a song called ‘Wondering’.

What’s next for you?

Recording my next album, then a few more. Also, I’d love to tour the world again and play at as many festivals as I can.
