‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

"Together Again (feat. Gabriel Afathi)" by John Lord Fonda

John Lord Fonda

... is an outsider on the French electronic music scene, as discrete as he is difficult to classify. Hailing from Nancy in the northeast of France, Fonda released a single last year on A-Traction Records (the Titanium EP) after a long sabbatical during which he was quietly ruminating, but also creating.
It was only when the entire world stopped to handle a pandemic that the producer decided to come back into the spotlight with the release of an EP, and now once again with Walk Again, his third album - a way of showing that he is back on his feet, coming back to life after some suffocating moments, and moving forward.
Since his first EP in 2004, John Lord Fonda has honed his style of electronic music, particularly with his albums DeBaSer (2005) and Supersonique (2011) released on Citizen Records, the Dijon-based label founded by Vitalic. JLF's techno has grown to become dynamic, organic, melodic, dreamlike, powerful and even epic.
On Walk Again, Fonda effortlessly proves he's still at the top of his game. Featuring 11 tracks, the album includes techno bombs, elements of breakbeat, melodic gems, hints of new wave and a couple of quieter moments. The guiding concept for the album, mixed by Christophe Monier (The Micronauts) was to produce trippier, more hypnotic techno tracks.

Together Again (feat. Gabriel Afathi)

"Together" they created a top-class 80s vibe, "dreamy saturated beats" meets "catchy hooks" to melt in melancholy, or "Together Again" by John Lord Fonda (feat. Gabriel Afathi), beautiful nostalgic meets the present!
