‘The Crawling Eye’ by The Silence Industry On this very Friday, we whisk you away into the sublime yet shadow-laden realm of Goth Rock, where the heart of Post-Punk beats incessantly. The Silence Industry has recently set a benchmark with ‘The Crawling Eye’ that other artists will find difficult to surpass in the foreseeable future. Endowed with an impressive back catalog, The Silence Industry approaches a topic of grave seriousness in their latest release. The track addresses omnipresent surveillance, shedding light on its profound implications as well as the personal apprehensions it evokes. Musically, Graham Jackson creates a scene of distressing perfection, where elements of Death-Rock leave us breathless and the fear of omnipresent observation becomes palpable. Driven by a dark Post-Punk aura, Graham rises with a performance at the microphone that recalls memories of Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke). The artist not only succeeds in maintaining the tension for nearly seven minutes b

"Memory" by Ice Hokku
Ice Hokku
... is an indie-pop duo that grew up on western music and found inspiration in the authenticity of the Middle East. The name “Ice Hokku” is a pun that combines Japanese poetry and “hokku” (haiku) philosophy with the northern sport Nordic ice hockey sport, popular in Northern cultures. The duo's surprisingly powerful sound is achieved by using loop stations that continuously record sound layers during a show in real-time.
Indie-pop duo Ice Hokku released a new song and video clip “Memory” about nostalgia, hope and closeness. Melancholic yet life-affirming song “Memory” conveys a deep feeling of nostalgia, drawing strength from the past and hoping for a common future. It was written during the lockdown, when musicians were trying to reach their family by video calls, and gained another meaning with the war in Ukraine, symbolising the memory of what’s disappearing, and hope.
The song “Memory” succinctly conveys thoughts and worries about long-distance relationships with family. It's about distance not only in space, but in time – decades between now and childhood, when we were especially close to them. It’s about deep adult love, rooted in carefree years, where you hope that your relatives will be with you forever and always remain the same.

What was your inspiration to start writing songs?
In our youth it was very common not only to listen to Nirvana, System of a Down, Linking Park, but to start a band and to write own songs as well.
What's the story behind your latest release "Memory"?
«Memory» was written during the strict lockdown, and it's full of worries and anxieties about long-distance relationships with a family via video calls. It’s about deep adult love, rooted in childhood - carefree years, where you hope that your relatives will be with you forever and always remain the same.
Today, because of the war in Ukraine, the song gained another meaning. It is about the memory of what is disappearing, pain and hope no matter what, the importance of people to each other. Not appreciating people is a way of violence and destruction for the sake of your delusions.
How would you describe your creative process?
Usually we start from suffering. Because it’s so difficult to start :) But mostly it’s the hardest part of writing. Julia makes a first sketch and passes it to Anton, who makes an arrangement for a live show with loopers. Then we preform with a new track several times and make corrections. After all we start to work on studio version of the tune with a sound producer.
