Technoesque Poesie: "Stern" by Jioni , ENNA

The inner spark of hope still shines: "Insania" by ANTIAGE

ANTIAGE, Germany

ANTIAGE

Into another world with ANTIAGE – the first band to be followed by the white rabbit. In these crazy times, even the white rabbit has lost his bearings. But his new fixed star is the industrial pop band ANTIAGE.
The three men from Germany create new worlds and entice the audience to follow them there. ANTIAGE take you on a journey through the deep black valleys of the soul over the stony, steep and gray slopes of life to the narrow, brightly lit peaks of ecstasy. Having experienced a lot themselves, ANTIAGE tell stories from real life, artistically packaged, and garnished with myths, fictions and dreams. Stories that’ll encourage discovery again and again.

ANTIAGE are ...?

... Kaa Soleil (vocals), Finton Connedy (guitar & piano) and Veto Lestard (synths & programming).

Kaa: We’re an Industrial Pop band from Germany and we’re the first band that is followed by the white rabbit.
In our music we combine heavy guitar sounds and hard synthesizers and hard drums with light melodies and synth pop tunes. Each song has a different mixture of Industrial and Pop so our music has a quite broad range of styles.

How did you get into music?

Veto: As a technology and keyboard fetishist I bought my first keyboards as a teenager and tried to emulate my idols of the time, such as Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk.

Finton: I played Wii Music and immediately quit soccer and started playing keyboards. Since then I haven't gotten away from musical instruments.

Kaa: I discovered rock music when I was 13 and always wanted to be a guitarist but in the end a guitar had too many strings for me. So I ended up with the bass guitar and later the vocals came in and the bass went away again.

"Insania" sounds great, what's the story behind the song, what was your inspiration?

Veto: The song deals with the feeling of emptiness in a world where it seems there is no back and forth. Anything bad is possible but the inner spark of hope still shines. No matter where the journey leads, giving up is not an option.

Finton: All has started with a short arpeggio melody which was in my mind and together we built this whole song around and later Kaa added the lyrics.

Kaa: Inspiration comes to me when I watched to the daily news of the world and what I felt in this moment of writing.

I have read something about an upcoming Album, what can we expect from?

Finton: That’s true. We are planning to release our debut album in fall or winter this year.

Kaa: The songs are already recorded and produced. But now there is much to organize to bring the album on its way

Veto: The fact that we do the most things on our own there is really MUCH to do. ;)

Creating a video ... is it more fun or work... or a mixture of both?

Kaa: Absolutely both. The most fun part is the shooting itself when we can perform and play with the cam.

Veto: Beforehand there is hard work to do with organization, set-scouting, to write a script and imagine the outfits for example. Surely it’s satisfying when you see that the whole concept’s taking shape.

Finton: The post production is hard work to but it’s the same: when you see the project growing it is great.

Kaa: Videos are so important for us the express our art next to the music. In the end the most important thing to do it with passion. And then it’s always more fun than work.

Is there a chance to see you somewhere live on stage?

Finton: We are currently planning some gigs and festival shows. As soon as possible we want to enter the stages.

What was in your opinion the last "Big Thing" in music history?

Veto: Maneskin.

Kaa: Definitely Maneskin. If you like their music or not, this band is so hyped around the planet and in my opinion they deserve it. Each band member is great for itself and they set every stage on fire. Each night. Great.

What’s next for you, what are your plans in the near future?

Finton: Release our debut album with at least one single with video.

Kaa: Playing live shows. And we will drop our first merch this summer.
