‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

Early Synth Pop Vibes meets Evolution: Ema Missy is back with "Another World"

Another World by Ema Missy

Ema Missy

... released "Another World" some days ago and gave his musical signature a new direction. Currently the "Italian Music Vagabonda" discovered the world of early Synth Pop Vibes. The new release tells the sonical journey of human evolution and is absolutely able to surprise. The sound selection creates an amazing atmosphere and shows the different influences of  Ema again.
Read below the answers to our questions from the short interview we did with this talented artist and listen to his new release!

What was your inspiration for your latest release "Another World"?

That part is very important because the song is a kind of human evolution: it starts with a simple Gloeckenspiel like a child who is playing by himself and then immediately the percussions arrive (kind of ancestral reminder of what we really are).
Soon after my voice recalls the title with a very extraterrestrial-robotic sound effect: Another World!
I can imagine a Robot that is watching us and sees how chaotic and unreasonable our actions are. We are destroying our own planet earth and the Robot logic is: we definitely need another planet, another home, another world.
For this reason I have added the Synth on the second part... we need to evolve to go further as soon as possible. (But still keeping the Gloeckenspiel and tribal percussions with us, our simplicity and creative mind and touch).

You have played a lot of different instruments on your new release, which one was the most difficult to play?

...the most difficult part in ANOTHER WORLD definitely were the percussions. Very fun but also very demanding in keeping the perfect Tempo without exceed with the dynamic of the bongo-jambes.

What are your main influences concerning music in general?

I am also proud to be able to enjoy different genres and work with different sounds. I have been started with Grunge and Punkrock exploring also the Acoustic side of it. And now I am developing something different and more colorful, thanks to different instruments and style and languages.
For sure, like everything, it is a Life process, and if you live different experiences you can take a lot from them to get new ideas and create new art - music.
The few Italian songs are the ones most listened at the moment: ASCOLTA, MIA, ASSURDO. I am definitely happy and satisfied of my music page (Spotify but also other platforms) because it really says who I am, with all the influences that I have gained during my years around Europe.

Any chance to see you somewhere live on stage this summer?

I am not going to perform Live this summer but I am releasing different new songs and building my artist Spotify page up. There you can find songs in English, Italian, German and soon in Slovak too. I am based in Bratislava and I am learning the language.

What’s next for you?

After ANOTHER WORLD I will release POCUVAJ SA (Listen To Yourself) as a tribute to my Slovak friends and my personal Slovak Life Experience.
