Dive into the Eclectic World of ‘MYSTIQUE (Album)’ by Carlos Ucedda

“ MYSTIQUE” by Carlos Ucedda Releasing an album these days is quite a remarkable feat. With “MYSTIQUE,” Carlos Ucedda presents a sort of greatest hits collection, offering an overview of his work to date.  A total of 13 exceptional musical compositions are available from an exclusive repertoire, available exclusively on Bandcamp in album format.  The album kicks off with an electro-underground banger set in the 1980s called “At the Bottom.” In the following track, “Under Your Iris,” the artist showcases a contrasting facet of his musical spectrum by delving into contemporary electro-pop, revealing a gentler side of himself. The track “Animal Sauna” evokes associations with Depeche Mode and proves to be highly danceable. “Secret Relief” combines elements of art pop with electronic sounds , while the roots in electronic music remain ever-present. Attention: Great video! “Window To The Soul” offers modern synth-pop , while “Thinking About My Love” brings playful nostalgia. “App

Soulful Jazz meets Funky Electronica: "Can't get over you" by Who Parked The Car

Who parked the car

Who parked the car

... is an ever-shifting blend of soul, jazz, funk and electronica. The 8-piece band is made up of young musicians coming from France and Latin America (Argentina, Honduras). They enjoy taking elements from jazz and popular styles of music to explore a wild variety of grooves, textures and emotions.
Snarky Puppy, Robert Glasper, Louis Cole, Anderson .Paak, Weather Report, Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder, Toto or Supertramp are among the many influences they like to mention. Their debut album “Mad Weather Good Friends” was released on June 10, 2022.

Who are "Who parked the car" and what's the story behind the band name?

Alejandro: Who Parked The Car is a group of friends that love and share their passion for music. The story behind the name is a secret that will last for generations.

"Can't get over you" sounds impressive and timeless, what was your inspiration?

Who parked the car. Kevin Paumier
Sebastián: There really wasn’t a specific inspiration for "Can't get over you". It’s simply a song that came out of our creative process. We have a musical direction in mind that we’re trying to aim towards.

I have read you tested the song live, when did you decide to release the song?

Alejandro: The moment that we first played this song we knew it would be in our next album!
Ludo: This song is the first song we wrote after finishing our album Mad Weather Good Friends, so we had time to play it live and refine it until we got to record it this past summer when we went in the studio for our upcoming 2nd album. It felt natural to release it first to the public as a glimpse of what WPTC’s future sounds like.

What's in your opinion the most difficult part, being in a band of eight?

Alejandro: I think the most difficult thing is to leave room to each member of the group to express his/her musically without limits, and without doing a band where everyone is playing all the time. How to give space to everyone without making the music too dense.

How important are "socials" for the indie music scene?

WPTC, K. Paumier
César: I think today it’s very important, cause it’s your first contact with the audience, so it got to be convincing.

If you could select an extraordinary live location for a gig, where would it take place?

Ludo: I think I speak for everyone when I say we would love to play a gig in Willy Wonka’s factory. If that’s not possible we could settle for Madison Square Garden.

What song would you recommend to a listener who has never heard WPTC before?

César: I would say the song “Who Parked The Car?” is a good mix of the styles we like. With this song you can hear the joy we get from playing and making music together.

What’s next for you?

Sebastián: Some local gigs in Paris, and hopefully some festivals soon! We love playing live and sharing meaningful moments with an audience!
