From Indie Electro to Folktronica
"Desire" by TANOKI
"Desire" is the newest creation from TANOKI, the musical alter ego of Paul Mahon, a visionary producer from Kilkenny. He joins forces with Moses Moorhouse, a fellow Kilkenny talent, who adds his soulful vocals to the mix. The song is a synthesis of electro indie and alternative rock, influenced by the likes of Alt-J, Metronomy, MGMT, M83. Desire reveals Mahon’s flair for designing captivating and varied soundscapes, as well as Moorhouse’s expressive and emotive voice. The song conveys the theme of longing and passion, with lyrics that are both poetic and authentic. Desire will entice listeners who appreciate electro/indie music, as well as those who are intrigued by a fresh and exhilarating sound.
“schmetterling” by axelle64
With “schmetterling” (butterfly), axelle64 unveils a new musical creation today, following his collaboration with the Berlin-based electropop artist VALENTIN on the song “Model” earlier this year. The track oscillates between dream and reality, from verses that express the dread of tomorrow, to a disoriented pre-chorus sleep phase, to a potent dream world in the chorus. The lyrics are alternately gloomy and relatable, or intimate and whimsical.
"The End Of October" by Grandios Sensibel
"The End Of October" is a powerful and personal expression of the artist’s struggle with loss and self-discovery. The musical elements, such as the chord progression, the style, the sounds, the dramaturgy, and the rhythm, mirror the theme of the lyrics. Grandios Sensibel was responsible for all the instruments, including piano, guitar, and bass, and he also handled the production and editing of the song in her home studio. Her former fellow student Josephine Stenger-Ruh “jo_onpaper” designed the cover artwork, which reflects the song’s mood in a stunning visual.
"Fate" by Piperlain
"Fate" is the latest artistic endeavour from Piperlain. The track is a genuine fusion of indie folk and folktronica, enriched with progressive pop/rock sounds, tribal percussion, and Middle Eastern influences. The track exhibits Piperlain’s multifaceted and eclectic style, which integrates elements of alternative folk/rock/pop, world music and percussion, using instruments such as the djembe and 12-string guitar. The song is inspired by a new relationship and the journey of excitement, anticipation, and contemplation of a romantic future, as well as the anxiety and desperation of waiting for someone special to return after being away.
