Electro-Pop’s Poet of Pain: Me & Melancholy Releases ‘Tears In The Rain’

‘Tears In The Rain’  by  Me & Melancholy Whenever there’s a new release from Me & Melancholy , it fills us with anticipation. This time, the artist paints a compelling portrait of human vulnerability and the complexity of interpersonal relationships.  ‘Tears In The Rain’ succeeds in capturing the essence of ephemeral beauty and the pain of the inevitable, expressing it through music. The dynamics of estrangement, articulated in the lines ‘I’m not able to reach you ’ and ‘ the more I try, the further I push you away ’, reflect a tragic irony. It feels like a dance of approach and withdrawal, prompting listeners to contemplate the paradoxes that often occur in our most intimate relationships.  The artist’s signature melancholic tone conveys a plea for acceptance and an attempt to bridge the gap created by misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Musically, Peter Ehrling navigates familiar territory, once again leveraging it to his advantage by capturing the emotional depth.   ‘Tears

The Jungle of Indie Music: A Musical Adventure Across Different Countries and Genres

Exploring the Indie Music Jungle

Exploring the Indie Music Jungle

We cordially invite you to accompany us on a musical journey around the globe. We will explore the latest and most intriguing developments in various regions and cultures.

Our first destination is Colin Robert O’Brien and his song “You Got Gold”. Colin hails from Indianapolis, IN, but his odyssey took him to Phuket, Thailand. His distinctive sound, characterised by emotive vocals and poignant songwriting, has garnered him a faithful following, for which he expresses profound gratitude. We struck gold with “You Got Gold”.

Next, we encounter the Julakim Trio from Germany and their release “Inner Light”. To commemorate their 10th anniversary in November 2023, the Julakim Trio initiates a release marathon: 12 songs will be unveiled online sequentially and ultimately on vinyl. This album, “bLuzLand”, is augmented by Brazilian artists such as Paula Toschi and Pedro Marcio Agi. Julakim’s philosophy of ‘bLuz’ encompasses not only ‘luz’, which signifies light, but also ‘be loose’ as a disposition towards life. Thus, we urge you to take the plunge into the unknown! “Inner Light” is a musical journey that reveals and shares one’s inner glow, offering a chance to change and connect.

Then we arrive in Israel, where we meet Boaz Regev, a musician, creator and composer who plays an instrument called “Tar”, an ancient Persian string instrument. The Tar is a purely natural instrument, composed of wood, bone and skins. It produces a resonant sound that stirs the soul. Boaz creates unique music that oscillates between traditional and modern style. His works are based on the Makam theory - the theory of music from the East, and they draw inspiration from diverse worlds: Boaz combines both electronic and purely acoustic elements. In all works by Boaz, one can discern and sense the influences of nature, soul and spirit.

Maria Brym is our next guest on the list, a committed songwriter from Oslo, Norway. “King Winter”, the third track from her debut album, is a song about a heart that shatters at a birthday party. The mystical interpretation makes it an ideal candidate for any chill out winter playlist.

The Portland Sound is a musical collaboration between the songwriters and producers Jon Dye and Matt Champness. Their output is eclectic and original, spanning from pure electronics to folk, some classical influence, pop and whatever else they fancy. A first glimpse of this splendid collaboration is “Left For You”.

"Mother Dawn", our final discovery in this article, is a cross genre folk/blues track that explores the healing power of the rising sun and how time covertly slips through our fingers. Rich Swingle is a singer/songwriter who resides on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. His bluesy fingerpicking guitar style blends with passionate folk vocals to narrate stories that concentrate on the way we live and our connection to the natural world.

We have seen diverse artists and their splendid music from various countries, which made us realize that music transcends boundaries!
