We are delighted to present to you O KANENAS, a singer-songwriter from Greece, who has created a musical hidden gem with his EP “High strung”. This EP, which was released in December, is the outcome of a lengthy creative process, in which he honed his skills in composition, lyrics and music production. He skilfully blends different genres, such as classic rock, blues rock and alternative, while retaining his own style. 

A particular highlight of the EP is the song “Old Dog”, which we would like to share with you today. It is a ballad that evokes a rock ballad. Inspired by the story of Xenophon called Anabasis, it narrates the exploits of a warrior who fights for his home and his freedom, loyal and brave, but also scarred and weary, like an old dog, who confronts the hardships. 

The sea is his place of yearning, his escape from the hostile land. As a leader, he has undergone much, but he sticks to his path, his destiny. With the strength and pride of his sword, he is sure that he will return. Life is a struggle, a challenge, but he does not surrender, he advances, he is proud, he is a role model. He encapsulates all this into a ballad that resembles an ode to virtue. A tribute to courage.  Multi-instrumentalist O KANENAS demonstrates his songwriter quality with “Old Dog” and invites you to listen to the whole EP. “Old Dog” is more than just a recommendation, it is an experience.
