We are delighted to present to you O KANENAS, a singer-songwriter from Greece, who has created a musical hidden gem with his EP “High strung”. This EP, which was released in December, is the outcome of a lengthy creative process, in which he honed his skills in composition, lyrics and music production. He skilfully blends different genres, such as classic rock, blues rock and alternative, while retaining his own style.

A particular highlight of the EP is the song “Old Dog”, which we would like to share with you today. It is a ballad that evokes a rock ballad. Inspired by the story of Xenophon called Anabasis, it narrates the exploits of a warrior who fights for his home and his freedom, loyal and brave, but also scarred and weary, like an old dog, who confronts the hardships.

The sea is his place of yearning, his escape from the hostile land. As a leader, he has undergone much, but he sticks to his path, his destiny. With the strength and pride of his sword, he is sure that he will return. Life is a struggle, a challenge, but he does not surrender, he advances, he is proud, he is a role model. He encapsulates all this into a ballad that resembles an ode to virtue. A tribute to courage. Multi-instrumentalist O KANENAS demonstrates his songwriter quality with “Old Dog” and invites you to listen to the whole EP. “Old Dog” is more than just a recommendation, it is an experience.

In their song "Das Schöne bewahrt", Nathalie Weider and Christian Loebenstein explore the uncertain nature of farewells. The indecision as to whether the farewell is temporary or permanent is deliberately left open and refers to the ambivalent reality of human relationships. The bittersweet melody and the alternation between chanson and pop song emphasize the duality of feelings: preserving the beauty of the past while the uncertainty of the future persists. It is the emotional tension between letting go and holding on that gives the duet its narrative and musical depth.

In the piece "Crying Sun," T!ANA thematizes the inner conflict of a lost soul trapped in its struggle for healing. The coldness of the outside world stands in tense contrast to the burning desire for liberation. By describing the confrontation with one's own demons and the subsequent detachment from them, "Crying Sun" illustrates the process of healing. The atmospheric alternative electro sound creates the right setting, with T!ANA occasionally appearing on the surface, but mostly slumbering deep underground. The vocals march succinctly with the rhythm that hammers relentlessly, without mercy and without remorse. "Crying Sun" by T!ANA will delight many ears.

ARPRAXIS brings Mia G on board and slides towards the 90s, stopping there to embrace everything that made a great house track back then.
