‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

Follow your own path: “Someone” by Bromsen

“Someone” by Bromsen

Bromsen have returned with “Someone”, an artistic piece of music. This time, Karlo and Richard drew inspiration from the Irish songwriter Luka Bloom. The result is fantastic. Irish Folk meets German Indietronic Rock, and though the genres are very different, they harmonise wonderfully. Both bring boundless energy, as if there were no tomorrow. The vocals are first-rate, and the musical execution and the integration of the Irish elements are brilliant.
The song encourages listeners not to follow the predetermined path in life, but to listen to their intuition and find their own course. It is a song like a compass that shows them the new way.
Richard Bromsen himself says:We hope our song gives people lots of positive energy, similar to what you would get if you walked somewhere on the outskirts on a cold and sunny day, be it Berlin or anywhere else in the world.”
With “Someone”, Bromsen have delivered one of their best pieces so far and shown that they can still improve. They have plenty of creativity up their sleeve or at their disposal. They are now at their fifth single release, and this track is from their eagerly awaited debut album “Brothers in Mind”, which will be released on 16 February 2024 via Epictronic
We and I think many others are looking forward to it! Until then, listen to “Someone” and go your own ways!
