‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

“Open It” by Spag Ruckus

“Open It” by Spag Ruckus

Spag Ruckus is the musical endeavour of the French artist Thomas Desbouvrie, also known as Matheo de Bruvisso, who works across various disciplines. He is among the founding members of Dirtyphonics, a distinguished group that performs at the most prominent festivals on the planet and collaborates with eminent artists such as Skrillex and Marilyn Manson. In pursuit of new artistic challenges, he discovered them in his project Spag Ruckus. Inspired by the sheer energy of the dancefloor, Spag Ruckus produces a plethora of diverse musical styles, encompassing techno and glitch hop, as well as classical music and movie scores.
“Open It”, his most recent release, which came out in the previous year, is a potent and rhythmic techno track. It is a single from the forthcoming “Techno Jungle Ravers E.P.”, which will be launched in January.  With his impeccably tuned underground dancefloor tech in the manner of the greats, he evokes a bit of the mid-90s, but brings sufficient potential to dominate the floors of the present. The song is a captivating and dynamic techno track that captures the quintessence of the underground dancefloor. A thrilling beat, like a hammer that strikes the anvil of the dancefloor, a hypnotic lead and the bassline put the listener in a trance. Spag Ruckus inaugurates the underground floors of 2024 with “Open It”!
