‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

“Enough”: Explore the Emotional Depths of Self-Reflection with Jessie Berkshires

“Enough” by Jessie Berkshires

Today is release day and we focus on the new songs of this week again. Starting with Jessie Berkshires, an indie artist from Detroit, USA, we devote ourselves to the segment or genre of electro pop
“Enough” is the name of her latest single, which explores the emotional depths of self-reflection and takes us into various obscure alleys. The introduction is superbly executed, as it has a high distinctiveness. Well-arranged drums, which resonate both harmoniously and rhythmically, give the track, in combination with the bass, precisely the degree of elegance and nonchalance that it needs to keep “Enough” at a high level.
The vocal performance of Jessica herself is undoubtedly the essential element, and meets the expectations that we have set for her as already with her predecessor “Testify”. With the synth sound of the 80s in the background, she steers towards pop nostalgia and leaves us gratified.
Jessie Berkshires is unequivocally an indie artist to watch. A talented and versatile artist who can show again that she’s close to a big hit.
