‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

Somewhere in the Cosmos of Love: “Pour maman (EP)” by Booster Fawn

“Pour maman (EP)” by Booster Fawn

Booster Fawn reveals a new opus this week with the 3-song EP “Pour maman”, under the aegis of Damaged Halo Records. Those who are acquainted with him already envisage what awaits them. But this time Joshua Marc Seguin astounds by resorting to his mother tongue.
The three songs are reworkings of songs that feature on “Dreams Made of Snowflakes”, but they undergo a completely new interpretation through the French language.  The opener "À quoi ça sert?" conveys the listener into a sea of psychedelic folk rock and persuades them to forget everything around them for 10 minutes.
The band grasps the opportunity to display their skills, which they also utilise and demonstrate that they are more than mere accompaniment. They intertwine their sound carpet skilfully with the lyrics and exhibit that they can integrate their faculty, acoustic storytelling, with the emotional performance of Joshua Marc Seguin. Thematically, “Pour maman” is a sonic tribute to Joshua’s mother, but also to everyone who harmonises with the cosmos of love. “Pour maman” is recommended for genre enthusiasts who aspire to explore new things and are not averse to letting themselves drift.
