‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

The Epic Saga Continues: “Ragnar’s Revenge” by Ullrson

“Ragnar’s Revenge” by Ullrson

As we conclude today, we venture into the depths and mystique of the North. “Odin, Far Wanderer” and “Dedicated to Odin” were the predecessors to “Ragnar’s Revenge.” Ullrson has returned and, with Ragnar’s last words, he turns night into day. “Gnyðja mundu grísir, ef galtar hag vissi” echoes through the sacred halls of Viking Techno.
“Ragnar’s Revenge” tells the story of Ragnar Lothbrok’s heroic death in a snake pit and the revenge Ragnar’s sons exact on King Aelle using the legendary blood eagle. Ullrson keeps this story dark in his work and achieves the desired effect with his golden touch for sounds; one can directly feel a breath on the neck that cannot be shaken off, which pursues and corners them
The challenge in this genre is to maintain tension over the length and to set sonic accents consciously; as always, he has succeeded brilliantly. “Ragnar’s Revenge” is certainly another accolade for Ullrson and will leave his sound trail on every dance floor.
The boar may be dead, but Ullrson, like an eagle, continues his rounds in the skies, and now and then he plunges to the ground to leave us a gift!
