‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

Anachronistic Alchemy: “He Brings Trouble” by Transit Cop

“He Brings Trouble” by Transit Cop

Transit Cop from Cheltenham, UK, have come of age. Seventeen years have passed, yet they’ve retained their youthful charm and fused it with the energy of the present. Their latest release, “He Brings Trouble,” is a frenetic swan song to a troublemaker. Accompanied by a fantastic riff, Guy Lewis showcases his vocal prowess, capturing the chaos in palpable moods.
Driven by the drums, they race through the alleys of memorability without looking back. Time flies too quickly, and suddenly, you’re grown up. Drums and synthesizers are perfectly linked by the bass, creating a timeless sound that sets them apart.
“He Brings Trouble” revives the past without sounding retro. Perhaps these seventeen years had to pass for them to reach their maturity. The wait has definitely been worth it, and anticipation for their next release is already at the starting blocks. We eagerly await to see if they can top “He Brings Trouble.” It will be challenging, but I believe they still have quite a bit up their sleeve.

For anyone wondering who Transit Cop are, here is the answer:
Transit Cop consists of
Guy Lewis (lead vocals, guitar),
Marcus Attwood (bass and guitar),
Andy Brotherton (drums),
Russ Mulligan (guitar) and,
Paul Richards (keyboards and synths)
