Please Insert Coin: ‘Games’ by The Octopus Division

‘Games’ by The Octopus Division If you love the 80s and don't know Matt Muncie (aka The Octopus Division), you've definitely missed something. But as it's never too late for good music, you can catch up on what you've missed anytime and almost anywhere.  The Octopus Division's latest work is called ‘Games’ and once again represents the decade of neon lights perfectly. The major sequences are classically chosen, and you'll be hooked from the start. Back in the world of arcade games, the song becomes an intense journey of self-discovery, describing personal growth. Timelessness and shared experiences emphasize the importance of interpersonal bonds. ‘Games’ creates a dreamy atmosphere that allows you to immerse yourself in another world and makes you think about the future - all because you pressed the start button.  The entire production clearly bears Matt's signature, with classic drums, synth arrangements, and above all, the usual concise vocal part, which...

The discourse surrounding the role of women in the music industry is a well-established subject, yet it remains ever pertinent. Today, we aim to introduce you to two exceptional artists whose creative endeavors resonate within similar realms. Whether termed Dark Pop, Alternative, or Dark Wave, it is not the genre labels that take precedence, but rather the extraordinary and creative output that is all too often insufficiently acknowledged.
Let us pause for a moment to glance back at the swift progress of the musical landscape, and then cast a focused eye on Mango in Euphoria and Elastic Skies, two artists who, despite their differences, exhibit remarkable similarities.

"Just Before You Cry" by Elastic Skies

c Elastic Skies
In the realm of Dark Wave music, the latest work by Elastic Skies opens a sphere that invites us to dance yet is permeated with deep melancholy. Dazzling synthesizer landscapes and guitar-driven sound waves capture an oppressive reality, one that holds us firmly in its grip and is not easily shaken off. Elastic Skies, the artistic alter ego of Nora Blöchl, originally from Linz and now settled in Lisbon, intertwines the smallness of our world with the vastness of our emotions.
The somber track ‘Just Before You Cry’ urges us to accept our feelings and the often-associated melancholy, rather than hiding them and beautifying the truth. Rooted in the depth of the genre, her voice rises powerfully and piercingly, carried by the basses and drums of long-past eons. With graceful certainty, she navigates through the soundscapes, like a dancer between the notes.
The five compositions of the still-in-progress EP ‘I’ are the result of an inspired collaboration with musician and producer Patrick Tilg, a tribute to their shared artistic vision that will soon be released.

"Lovestruck" by Mango In Euphoria

c Mango In Euphoria
Mango In Euphoria continues her artistic ascent and presents “Lovestruck,” a piece that not only captures our attention but also fully deserves it. It is a symphony of Rock, Dream Pop, Synth Pop, and a dash of darkness that spices up the song with a zesty note. The composition is masterfully seasoned; the musical ingredients blend seamlessly, creating an impressive underground atmosphere where even a hint of Pop finds its place
“Lovestruck” is a love song, yet it carries a certain sadness, interwoven with a touch of anger, passion, and belief. It addresses the strong faith in a higher power that belongs to a certain level of spirituality.
Mango In Euphoria once again proves her impressive adaptability and convinces us completely with “Lovestruck.” The song is another radiant highlight of her creative prowess.
