‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

An Alternative Dream in Subtle Nuances: ‘Marta’ by Vetna

‘Marta’ by Vetna

While the release of their debut album ‘As Lips Run’ may have been some time ago, the band Vetna has now made their first appearance with us through their current release ‘Marta’. For those already familiar with Vetna, you know what to expect. But for those who are still unacquainted with them, it’s definitely worth giving ‘Marta’ a listen.
‘Marta’ captivates with its versatile instrumentation, sailing like a ship across the musical genres,  always on course, yet dreamy in subtle nuances. The vocals are precise and filled with longing, while the guitar introduces an eternal sound that seamlessly connects the diverse musical landscapes. Bass and drums provide the right drive without being neglected. Each instrument takes center stage, that’s what truly defines a band.
Sometimes, venturing into experimentation pays off, and ‘Marta’ is a prime example. The song gains an additional facet from it. With a proud length of 7 minutes and 44 seconds, one could almost argue that shorter wouldn’t sound better. Vetna succeeds with ‘Marta’ in making a statement, conveying emotions, and impressing in every way.
