The German reggae veteran Dr. Ring Ding presents us with the third track of the album, ‘Follow Dis Yah Sound.’ This composition is a fascinating blend of sounds that transport us back to the dancehall vibes of the '80s while also acknowledging the modern era. The drums carry trap influences, while dub-like breaks and a deep bassline play with the synthesizer, creating a modern nostalgia. Anaves Music, das österreichische Label, entfaltet mit seinem Album “Bass Jam” eine klangliche Reise, die die Grenzen von Reggae, Dub, Lofi, Trap und Dancehall erkundet, wenn nicht sogar sprengt. Dieses Werk präsentiert nicht nur Auszüge aus dem bestehenden Katalog des Labels, sondern auch frische Tracks, die den Hörer in eine Welt voller Resonanz und tiefem Klang eintauchen lassen.
Resonant und tief, mit einem Hauch modernen Trap, eröffnet der erste Track des Albums fulminant. “Rise Again” von Bandulu besticht durch seine schlichten, gut arrangierten Hörner. In Kombination mit der Rhythmussektion, die mit ihren Trap-Buzz-Rolls auf den Hi-Hats für Prägnanz sorgt, und den Lyrics, die zum Aufstehen auffordern, entfaltet “Rise Again” eine kraftvolle Wirkung als Opener.
