‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

The Essence of Longing: “Florence” by colourshop

“Florence” by colourshop

The beginning of colourshop’s new release whisks the listener away to an era reminiscent of the monochrome masterpieces of Italian cinema from the late '50s and early '60s, instantly creating a scene that feels both dreamlike and fairy-tale-like.
Florence,” the title of his new song, conveys a message that transcends mere admiration for aesthetics. It’s about recognizing beauty as an essential part of life and human experience. Beauty is portrayed as something that inspires, motivates, and ultimately enriches us, even if we cannot possess it. It is ephemeral, but that is precisely what makes it so valuable. “Florence” embodies a nostalgia for bygone times, which paradoxically reveals a deep appreciation for the here and now.
Musically, the piece is marked by an astonishing lightness; the guitar tones are delicate, the melody lively and colorful. Alfredo, better known as colourshop, creates with his talent an atmosphere that inevitably draws a smile of contentment from the listener. And within a few seconds we find ourselves wandering in thought through the alleys of Florence, delighting in the beauty of both the past and the present, and lingering in the hope that colourshop will continue to unfold his musical magic in the future.
