‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

‘Fake Sick!’ by George Alley

‘Fake Sick!’ by George Alley

George Alley wears many hats: from being a professor to serving as a curator, he’s involved in everything related to art. A prolific music contributor for UK’s Loverboy Magazine, where he interviews notable musicians, he is also a podcaster for the top-ten iTunes comedy show “I’m Going to Kill You!” and the pandemic-themed cast “Queerona.” And, most importantly (for us), he’s a composer and performer.
George Alley
We’ve introduced this versatile artist from Philadelphia before, and we remember tracks like ‘Doctor Doctor’ and ‘Just Leave Me Dreaming.’ Now, he’s making a comeback. The mood is much brighter and more colorful. Musically, he blends great indie pop/rock  sounds with psychedelic punk, resulting in George Alley’s "Prince Charming Pop-Punk". It’s like a soft mix of Bon Jovi meets Katrina and the Waves.
Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s thought that ‘to love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance,’ George Alley infuses his music with guitar riffs that capture the energy and rebellious spirit of self-love. Authentically executed, the DIY ethos captures the intoxication of the present, embracing the spontaneity of the moment. This spirit is vividly portrayed in ‘Fake Sick!,’ the latest single by George Alley.
