‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division

‘The Journey’ - The Octopus Division In ‘The Journey,’ a sonic mosaic unfolds that—permeated by neon-soaked synth pads and a melody that feels like memory—is less a song than a spiritual compass. The time that relentlessly pursues us, according to ‘Time keeps chasing us every day’, is not portrayed as an enemy, but as a constant touchstone that we face with our heads held high: ‘ We won't let the rain wash us away’ . Photography, here metaphorically as a key to the past, opens doors to moments that seem long gone but live on within us. The chorus – a kind of collective mantra – describes not just a journey, but an intertwining of stories that support each other. The garden in which hopes take root becomes a symbol of what must be nurtured in order to flourish. And when ‘ our songs have lost a note or two ’, it is not a flaw, but proof of lived depth. A song that is not meant to be heard, but to be lived through – like a familiar glance at an old photo album by candlelight. b...

‘Livin’’ by RogueFX ft. DEWAR

‘Livin’’ by RogueFX ft. DEWAR

She’s a Scottish singer-songwriter, and he’s a musical all-rounder who’s already given us many great tunes. For this collaboration, or rather this new release, Dewar has penned the lyrics and provided the vocals, while RogueFX has taken charge of the production, delivering bouncy house basslines, shimmering synths, and driving beats. The cherry on top is a guitar vibe reminiscent of Twin Peaks.
‘Livin’’ by RogueFX ft. DEWAR
‘Livin’’ is the name of their latest release, which beautifully blends house with a touch of trance and pop, echoing the big club hits of the 90s (think ‘Mr Vain’ by Culture Beat or ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’ by SNAP!).
Back when disco temples were the places to be, and the latest hits boomed out of the speakers. This collaboration between Kirsty Dewar (lyrics, vocals) and Andrew Wood (music, production) takes us right back there and proves that good music never ages. Definitely a must-listen!

The release of her latest albumRudiment’ marks the beginning of a new chapter in her career. She is currently preparing a tour of the UK, where she will enchant audiences with her atmospheric soundscapes.

Andrew Wood, the UK-based musician formerly of the 1980s synth-pop group Please and the 1990s house music ensemble Bass Value, had records released on Reaching Records, Three Beat Records, and PWL. After a 20-year hiatus, Wood began releasing music under the moniker Rogue FX, which draws inspiration from 1980s synth pop and is classified as synth-wave or retro-wave.
