“Casualty” by Straight Razor

“Casualty” by  Straight Razor Omar Doom, born Omar Makhdomi, is a musician and actor. After graduating from the Parsons School of Design, he moved to Los Angeles, where he formed a fateful friendship with Quentin Tarantino. Recognising Omar’s potential, Tarantino cast him in the films “Death Proof” and “Inglourious Basterds” . Despite his success in film, music has always remained his true passion. In one of his latest works, “Casualty”, released under the name Straight Razors, Omar Doom explores the darker aspects of life. The song describes how people learn to conform to the unspoken rules and expectations of society over time. In doing so, they often lose a part of their individuality and freedom, becoming “casualties” of societal norms and pressures. “Casualty” addresses the challenge of staying authentic while bending to external influences. From Nature’s Fury to Human Struggle: “These Are Burning Days” by E.G. Phillips

“These Are Burning Days” by E.G. Phillips

A song that not only reflects natural disasters but also the emotional and societal challenges of our time. E.G. Phillips’ release “These Are Burning Days” combines vivid, almost painterly descriptions of nature with deep emotional and psychological reflections on loss, pain, and the human response to such catastrophes.
The repeated mention of “burning days” and the chaotic winds that fan the flames underscore the unpredictability and intensity of the fires. The biblical reference to Cain and Abel amplifies the sense of ancient, uncontrollable rage and violence that exists in both nature and the human spirit.
The musical work masterfully blends traditional elements of folk music with influences from progressive rock, utilising the depth of both genres to evoke even more emotion.
The result is a song that, thanks in part to the contributions of Kenny Schick and Amberly Rosen, has an infinite amount to offer.
