‘The Boys from Waterloo’ by The Rotor Delta

‘The Boys from Waterloo’ by The Rotor Delta Nostalgic reflections, driven by the memory of youthful escapism that has captured the unbridled joy of life. ‘The Boys from Waterloo’ by The Rotor Delta is available to stream on numerous platforms from today.  The Rotor Delta is the music project of British multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jimmy Green from Lincoln, Lincolnshire.   He poetically describes the journey of a group of people who were rebellious, creative and free in their youth, but who never lost sight of the blows of fate and the emotional highs and lows of life. ‘The Boys from Waterloo’ describes the dialectic between transience and permanence: while the moments of chaos and freedom fade, the emotions that shaped them remain indelible.  Musically, everything begins with Americana folk, then goes astray and oscillates between George Harrison and Bob Dylan, with the occasional flash of Roy Orbison. ‘Colorful Mind (EP)’ by Lucille Alison

‘Colorful Mind (EP)’ by Lucille Alison

From Paris, or rather she now lives in Brussels, comes a lot of good music, and Lucille Alison's pop/soul/jazz fusion is definitely one of them. At home in timeless modernity, she is always reminiscent of past greats. Her charisma is emotional, jazzy, and unadulterated, straight from and to the soul, so to speak.
‘Colorful Mind’ is the lead track of her EP and highlights the transformative power of art as a means of overcoming inner struggles. The song begins with a reflection on the unpredictability of life, symbolized by the wind and dancing leaves, and suggests a sense of being lost in a crazy world. Nevertheless, it invites the listener to give the universe a smile. A powerful mantra in the chorus emphasizes the importance of self-confidence and inner strength. The phrase ‘F*ck the world with your Colourful mind’ is a bold declaration of individuality and resistance to societal pressures, advocating embracing one's own unique perspective and creativity. The song also emphasizes the contrast between passivity and proactive living.
Musically, as already mentioned, you find yourself in a jazzy pop meets soul world that reminds me a little of an informal jam session between The Style Council and Matt Bianco. Be sure to listen to the EP, you won't be disappointed.
