#ListenNOW! ‘Go the Distance’ by SFMD (Suffocating Minds)

The 80s and SFMD are inextricably linked, and this will not change in 2025. "Go the Distance," released shortly before the turn of the year, strikes the same chord as its predecessors. Synthwave par excellence. To my delight, SFMD always manage to turn the sounds of the 80s into a New Synthwave spectacle in a class of its own, i.e., to add a time warp to their 80s charm that seems to stand the test of time. The great saxophone part, the vocals, and of course the synth arrangement should be emphasized, which in the right combination create a wonderful vibe and enchant us. Looking ahead, we should mention that an album and a tour are planned for this year, which we are already looking forward to. Until then, listen to "Go the Distance;" it will be worth the wait.

ListenNOW! "Life is a big joke" by Way To Blue

Melancholic post-punk, reminiscent of the greats of the genre in places, can be heard with Way To Blue and the release "Life is a Big Joke." Dramatically staged dark wave that knows how to inspire. Sounds that express their longing in the lost eternity of darkness create an atmosphere that draws you directly into the clutches of the genre and never let go. Way To Blue convinces with their second single and will certainly do the same with the following ones. You could almost think that they not only play darkwave, but also live it. "Life is a Big Joke" by Way To Blue is definitely worth listening to and can be found on our playlist!

#ListenNOW! ‘NEU NEU NEU (ft. Pele Caster & Ruebi)’ by Lehmanski

Lehmanski begibt sich mit seiner Single "Neu Neu Neu" auf die ständige Suche nach Neuem. Alles Alte und Vergängliche wird abgelehnt. Diese Suche oder Ablehnung ist eine tiefe Sehnsucht, die in uns schlummert und von Zeit zu Zeit geweckt wird. Bei näherer Betrachtung zeigt sich, dass diese Haltung die Akzeptanz der eigenen Sterblichkeit verhindert und zu einer unausweichlichen Konfrontation mit der Erinnerung an die Vergangenheit führt. Musikalisch verarbeitet er diese Thematik im Genre des Indie-Rock zu einem eingängigen Ohrwurm, der nicht nur mitreißt, sondern auch den Spiegel vorhält. Zur Vervollständigung des Songs hat er sich seine Musikerkollegen Pele Caster und Ruebi mit ins Boot geholt, um uns mit einem gekonnten Manöver aus der Routine des Alltags zu befreien. Großartig gelungener Indie-Rock und "catchy as hell"!

#OUTNOW! Cordless - "When I Fall Asleep"

After their successful debut, the dub/trip-hop duo Cordless from Youghal, Ireland, is back with ‘When I Fall Asleep’. Wonderfully ethereal sounds create a soundscape in which whispering, mysterious vocals nestle and want to whisk us away into the world of dreams. A subtle beat gently taps out the rhythm and awakens the passion of the vocals as the track progresses. In combination with the perfectly placed sounds, an overall musical picture is created that transports the listener into a kind of ecstasy that penetrates the deepest convolutions of the brain and makes us wake up in another universe. An insanely good start to the new year from Cordless.

The story of a long-distance relationship is the subject of Greek Brothers' new release. ‘Over In A Call’ deals with topics such as love, separation, and the role of technology in interpersonal relationships. The duo from Northampton translates the content into notes with a mixture of folk and contemporary pop and immediately captivates the listener with the wonderful vocal part. Of course, the bouzouki, which has already become the duo's trademark and once again lends the song an unmistakable flavor, is also included. ‘Over In A Call’ by the Greek Brothers is sure to bring back memories for some.
