The song serves as an emotional reflection on the transience of time, the pursuit of freedom and true connection, as well as the challenge of resisting external expectations. It exudes a mood that is both melancholic and combative. Synthpop heart - what more could you ask for?

#ListenNOW: Phil Fortin - "Nightwatchers"

With 'Nightwatchers' PHIL FORTIN offers us one of his best tracks, which I would categorize as dark post-punk pop of the early '80s. Both the vocals and the sound arrangement reinforce this genre classification. The melancholic melodies prove that you don’t need exaggerated drums to sound good, and the repetitive bass perfectly complements the mood of the night watchmen. The only thing I’m still waiting for is to add it to our playlist, as, as far as I know, it’s only available on SoundCloud and YouTube.

#listenNOW! "Coyote Run" by Peasant / Damien DeRose

The artist Damien DeRose (alias Peasant) tragically passed away 10 years ago. Producer Joe Ujj took it upon himself to sift through almost 400 songs and make them available to us as a kind of obituary. Joe and other Peasant fans have added instruments to the stripped-down songs, breathing new life into them, and the result is stunning. I think Damien would be proud to hear it. ‘Coyote Run’ is just one of the songs on ‘Lost Recordings Part Three,’ and it inspires me once again. My thanks also go to Damien's mum for making this possible. All proceeds go to a non-profit that she started in 2017: www.stillsinging.org

The Frenchy Captains have dropped anchor with us again and deliver a new live track, 'Hey Love, Stay For A While', that has what it takes to make anyone's day. Catchy as hell, it enchants the listener and forces them to sing along. Definitely one of the musical highlights of the month for me! Once heard, this song will be stuck in your head for days!

nyxotype and the playful experiment ‘Technosaurus’: avant-garde electro-pop inspired by a quirky dinosaur installation. The uncanny drift through the jungle of the present; the past becomes the future. ‘Technosaurus’ by nyxotype is, once again, very edgy but still manages to please!
